Who We Are

Introduction

Elimika Foundation was established in 2018 as a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth and uplifting communities, particularly in the Rombo District. The foundation was born out of a pressing need to address various challenges facing young people, including barriers to education, unemployment, and issues related to moral and social decline. Many youths struggle after dropping out of school due to negligence, lack of guidance, and difficult life circumstances. Elimika Foundation strives to create opportunities for these individuals to reclaim their potential and build brighter futures.

At Elimika, we believe in the power of changing mindsets. Many young people feel that it’s impossible to succeed on their own. We dismantle this misconception by offering guidance, mentorship, and resources to help them realize their dreams. We also provide moral support, life skills training, and practical tools like educational sponsorships and entrepreneurship seed funding to ensure their long-term success.

Over time, Elimika has broadened its scope to address wider social issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, teenage pregnancies, and a lack of meaningful job opportunities. By involving stakeholders, including local leaders, educators, and other organizations, the foundation aims to restore hope and direction among the youth and contribute to the overall development of the Rombo community and beyond.

Our Mission

The mission of Elimika Foundation is to empower young people and communities by providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary for their educational, social, moral, and economic development. Through its various programs, the foundation seeks to instill a sense of self-reliance, inspire innovation, and promote the well-being of individuals and society at large.

Our Vision

Elimika Foundation envisions a community where every young person is equipped with the education, skills, and moral values necessary to lead a productive, successful life. The foundation aims to be a driving force in eliminating youth unemployment, reducing social vices, and fostering an environment where all individuals can thrive through hard work, innovation, and community solidarity.

Elimika’s long-term vision is to see a society free from the shackles of poverty, addiction, and hopelessness, where youth and communities work together toward sustainable development, responsible living, and shared prosperity.

Our History

Elimika Foundation was officially established in 2018 in Rombo District, Tanzania, as a response to the growing social and economic challenges faced by young people in the region. The foundation’s founders recognized that many youths were being left behind due to systemic issues such as poor access to education, high rates of school dropout, and lack of opportunities for personal and professional development. These challenges were compounded by social problems like substance abuse, teenage pregnancies, and general moral decline, leaving many young people feeling hopeless and disconnected from their communities.

The foundation was created by local leaders, educators, and community members who envisioned an institution that would provide holistic support to youth. This included not only educational and vocational opportunities but also addressing deeper issues of self-worth, ambition, and community involvement. Elimika Foundation was born with a mission to uplift and empower youth through education, life skills training, and moral support.

Challenges We Address

Elimika Foundation focuses on tackling key challenges that hinder the development of youth:

  • Educational Disparities – Many young people in Rombo struggle with limited access to quality education. We bridge this gap by offering educational support, scholarships, and mentorship.
  • Unemployment – Even those who complete their education often face high levels of unemployment. We provide entrepreneurship training, life skills coaching, and job opportunities through various projects and partnerships.
  • Moral and Social Decline – Issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, early pregnancies, and negative peer pressure are significant problems. We offer counseling, moral education, and programs that promote positive social behavior.
  • Lack of Economic Empowerment – Many young people lack resources or guidance to start businesses or engage in income-generating activities. We provide small grants and entrepreneurship training to enable self-reliance.
